In this objective you will learn how to calculate the slope of a line on a graph
In this graph a line passes through the points -1 and 2. To calculate this graph you have to use a formula. This formula is expressed by:
Slope = rise
run
To do this formula you must take two points from the line, say -1 and 2 and connect them with zero and both each other to make a right angle triangle like below. Once done that you can do the slope formula, just right down: Slope rise(which is 2)/run( is -1). After written that down just press the enter or the equals button and the slope of the triangle should equal -2. If you were supposed to find the slope for a straight horizontal line, like the second graph on the right, it would be easy because it has no slope. It has no slope because as we move along the line, the y-coordinate does not change, but if you had to find the slope for a vertical line the slope would not defined. It would be not defined because in a vertical line slope doen't exist.
